The OSG group frequently has openings for research students and postdoctoral fellows. Candidates should have previous studies with high marks in a field such as Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science. Knowledge of mathematical optimization methods is strongly preferred. Any previous research experience (journal publication(s) and/or conference presentation(s)) is a plus, as are major national or international awards.

If you wish to join the group and believe you are qualified, please send an email with your CV/resume, a detailed list of publications, and a few names of references (with their contact information) who can comment on your academic/professional accomplishments and on your communication skills, to the email address: miguel-f.anjos@polymtl.ca. If your background is promising, you will be contacted to set up an interview.

Applications are accepted at any time.

If you are a researcher from Germany and completed your doctorate in the last four years, you can apply for a Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung to come work with us. Please contact us as per the instructions above, and specify that you wish to apply for a Feodor Lynen Fellowship.

Nearly all student researchers in the OSG group receive financial support. Self-funding such as a scholarship is welcome, but it does not increase your chance of being accepted.

In most circumstances, PhD students at École Polytechnique de Montréal pay the same reduced tuition fees as local Quebec students; this corresponds to a reduction of up to 80%!

My former students have gone on to positions at universities and research institutions as well as in industry, both in Canada and elsewhere. University employers include Waterloo (Canada), Tennessee-Knoxville (U.S.A.), Lancaster (U.K.) and Tilburg (Netherlands). Industry employers include GIRO, Shopify, EA Games, Canadian Tire, IBM, California ISO, and various consultancies.
